IP Video Surveillance, Don’t throw away your Analog Cameras!

Conventional IP video surveillance systems are a mixture of cameras, storage systems, management software, network routers and sometimes analytics sometimes from different vendors. Not, too mention that an existing video surveillance system, may have existing analog surveillance cameras.  That presents a challenge for customers, on how to best manage the system. Even worse, the massive bandwidth required to support such systems puts tremendous strains on the IT infrastructure – and large capital expenditures in the IT budget – these large upfront costs are delaying and even stopping some customers from implementing IP video-based systems. However, new IP video solutions have emerged that are even simpler than analog video surveillance systems to install and maintain. By combining video analytics and digital recording capabilities into a single IP camera, these next-generation systems use intelligence to not only detect and warn of threats, but store video only when needed, prolonging hard drive capacity, life expectancy, and performance. As a result, customers are increasing their effectiveness, efficiency and ROI.  And with today’s economy, you better be able to provide a ROI sooner than later! IP video surveillance is helping real-world organizations of all sizes protect their assets and their existing IT investments – all at a fraction of the cost of conventional approaches in certain applications.

However what if you have an existing surveillance system with analog cameras and do not want to throw away your initial investment?  Well today you don’t have to start completely over.  Nuuo has a Hybrid Surveillance System that includes video analytics, ability to use existing analog cameras, and video analytics.  With NUUO, you can provide your customer with the options they need and a surveillance system that allows for flexibility.
